Simple living series
There is more to a rich life than lots of money. There is more to financial freedom and independence than merely creating a huge wealth portfolio.
One of the keys to financial planning is to really listen well.
When you are meeting with a new client it is important to find out what sort of person they are, what is important to them. Obviously, there are some fundamentals that need to be in place for all people, like insurance, if you have family or debt or both. And savings plans for future needs, like retirement income.
But, not everyone has the same ideas about wealth, financial freedom and financial independence. Not everyone needs a $1M portfolio to retire on.
Some people, like myself, are also interested in things like eco-living, sustainability and the beauty of simplicity.
While at the same time (lets not lose all our capitalist friends, all at once!) being more than happy to be wealthy at the same time as wise; if that is our situation. (You have to love money. If you want some. You cannot hate money, and expect it to arrive on your doorstep in the same breath..)
So, for the Zen-minded (read: creative and wise) readers of InvestmentsLoans, we have put together a series on simple living. (I say we because I have decided to ask some of my friends if they would consider writing some posts in this series.. I think you will really like some of their ideas)
The simple living series will be up each Saturday. (This is the first post in the series, but check back tomorrow (Sunday), because I will be putting up the next post.. and then every Saturday from there on.)
