Simple Living - How to easily save a million dollars
Okay so maybe a million dollars is a bit of an exaggeration, and maybe I was just trying to get you to read the post.
But, here we present the popular Simple Living series for another week, and this week take a look at how to save big, long term, dollars through huge savings on your food bill.
How?
Become a vegetarian.
It is simple really. And healthy too.
By choosing a high fruit and vegetable diet you will save yourself a lot of money in the long run.
Why?
1. Lower medical costs.
You will be healthier and will pay less in the long run on medical bills. It is a fact that heart disease is one of the biggest health concerns for people aged over 40.
2. You can grow your own.
Being independent and self sufficient is very appealing. Being able to farm your own vegies will save you bucket loads of money in the long term. You could cut your food bill in half at least. And considering the average person will spend $10,000 on food every year, if you could put $5000 away instead.. you will go pretty close to our magic Million dollars.
You could actually earn more money aswell
If you become healthier, by choosing to only eat vegetables (and home grown, organic ones at that), as part of a balanced diet, you may find yourself much healthier as a result.
Healthier, with more energy. And a clearer mind.
Which could lead to increased productivity at work, and more enjoyment in life. Two factors that are going to be impressive in the workplace. And could result in more opportunities.
Conclusion
While it may seem extreme to some, going vego might be a great option for others. Not just a healthy option, but a smart financial one, that could be a catalyst for other improvements in your life.
